The Salty Dog Cafe (or Salty Dog Restaurant) of Hilton Head Island SC is located in Sea Pines Plantation in a small fishing village. The Salty Dog Restaurant (or Salty Dog Cafe) is the most memorable of Hilton Head restaurants and is popular among locals because of the casual relaxed atmosphere.

This quant fishing village has a boardwalk with shops, unique Hilton Head Island restaurants and activities for the whole family. Our kids love to listen to the entertainers while my husband and I kick back, relax and watch the sunsets over the Salty Dog Marina and marsh. Of course we have a cold drink in our hand to enjoy it all.

There are other Hilton Head Island restaurants on the boardwalk near the Salty Dog Restaurant which allows the whole family to try something different (not seafood) but still enjoy the atmosphere and shops of the Salty Dog Marina.

Kiwi's Island Grill

During the summer season Kiwi’s Island Grill serves burgers and sandwiches; Jake’s Pizza offers pizza and calzones. You must try some homemade ice cream from the boardwalks only ice cream shop, delicious!

Other Hilton Head restaurants simply cannot beat the setting of the Salty Dog Restaurant.

You’ll definitely want to venture upstairs into the T-Shirt Factory or Jake’s Cargo for your souvenirs. They have everything from T-shirts to great gifts for your pet. They also have children’s books featuring Jake.

Find something special for your pet!

It’s a tradition for my kids to find our Chocolate Lab, Marley, a toy she won’t chew her way through; they’ve not been successful yet! We did find some nice dog bowls at Jake’s Cargo which have lasted for a very long time.

Summer is the busiest time, so be sure to arrive early for good parking! Hilton Head Island is full of great treasures, Salty Dog Marina and the Salty Dog Restaurant is one of them. You’ve got to go at least once even if it’s just for the famous T-shirt and a fun Hilton Head dining experience!
