The George Fazio Course in Palmetto Dunes Hilton Head SC is a golfers delight, but it is not one to be taken lightly. This golf course is the only par 70 you will find on Hilton Head Island. The Fazio is the most challenging of all Hilton Head golf courses, and that par 70 is not an easy accomplishment.

When you come to play at the Fazio Course, you need to be prepared to rely upon your irons. The course plays out at just over 6800 yards from the back tees, and you will have to kick up your driving game if you want to consistently find the green.

There are 18 regulation holes, but only 2 of these are par 5s. The par 4s that make up the majority of the Fazio Course will test the ability, determination, and strength of golfers at every level of all Hilton Head golf courses. The 1st hole you face is over 400 yards and the 18th hole is over 460 yards. The pars 4s that dominate at Fazio elude many of the golfers that come out for a round because they mistakenly underestimate the toughness of this course. Sand traps and water hazards occur in the most unexpected locations and these will definitely keep you on your toes.

This Palmetto Dunes golf course was first opened 35 years ago, and was an instant success. A major renovation in 1994 brought much-needed updates to the design of the George Fazio layout. Today the outstanding maintenance and upkeep keep the Bermuda grass course fresh and inviting every day of the year for golf in Hilton Head.
